We are looking for a video editor for both long form and short form video. You will primarily be working on our 1.3+ Million subscriber Youtube channel as well as channels for our clients.

Hi, we’re Mike and Matty and we're the founders of Koi Media, a creative agency focused on content that helps brands grow their audience on YouTube. We partner with a select group of education-based, research-backed creators and brands that are transforming their industries.
We've built our own channel to over 1.3 million subscribers, and now we're looking for a talented creatives who can help us maintain that standard, across our own content and for the clients we work with.
What you’ll be doing
Long-form and Short-form YouTube editing. Transforming raw footage into YouTube videos that hook viewers in the first few seconds and hold their attention the whole way through. You think about watch time as much as you think about aesthetics, and you know how to structure pacing, build narrative momentum, and earn the next minute of attention.
Brand-consistent editing. Following our style guide so every video reinforces the channel's branding, in terms of color palette, typography, pacing, transitions, and the visual language that builds trust with the audience over time.
Motion graphics & visual effects. Creating dynamic text animations, lower thirds, transitions, and motion graphics that elevate production quality and keep the viewing experience fresh. Comfortable in After Effects (or equivalent) and motivated to push the look forward over time.
Requirements and Expectations
Proven YouTube experience. You've edited long-form YouTube content (ideally for personal-brand channels) with demonstrable success.
Retention & engagement expertise. You know how to hook viewers in the first few seconds, maintain pacing, and structure content for maximum watch time.
Technical proficiency. Expert-level skills in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. Comfortable in After Effects for motion graphics and text animations.
Remote-ready communicator. Fluent in English, experienced in remote teams, and available for meetings multiple times per week within PST business hours.
Reliable and organized. Deadlines met, project files backed up, revisions turned around fast. You manage yourself well without needing to be chased.

Fill out the application form below. As part of the process, you'll complete a short trial task so we can see how you think with a cut. Keep it focused, keep it on-brand.
Trial Task: We'll send you a short brief and raw footage from one of our videos after you submit your application. You'll edit a 1-2 minute segment that shows us your pacing, structure, and attention to brand consistency. This is how we find the right fit, and the fastest way for you to stand out.If we'd like to move forward, we'll be in touch within 2-3 days of your submission.
